This style of tag is probably the most commonly found style used in 1968 Norwood built models. Notice that the paint code is not separated by a dash like the 1967 versions.

1968 Camaro Magic Mirror Trim Tag
Very uncommon is this example of the 1968 Camaro Norwood "Magic Mirror" Trim Tag. These tags are very similar if not exactly the same as tags used in earlier years such as 1964 for other model vehicles. It is distinctive because it does not have the federal safety information stampled on the bottom of the tag. It also has a line marked ACC. which was used for accesory options in earlier years. This particular tag is also a good example of the use of the - - (dash) code for special paint in 1968 which was a change from the 1967 model year. 1968 Camaro LOS Trim Tag
This style of tag is one that is common to the LOS assembly plant. Aside from the difference in the plant designation it has a four digit code at the top right of the tag. This code was used as a plant scheduling code for the vehicles assembly.

Month
 Two digit code referring to the calendar month that the vehicles body was scheduled for production. The two digit number is indicative of the calendar month. Example 01= January, 05= May, 12= December.

Week

 Single alphabetical digit indicating the week of production for the calendar month. A= 1st week, B= 2nd week, C=3rd week, D= 4th week, E=5th week.

*Note: On LOS built cars there will be another 4 digit code in the top right hand corner as can be seen in the example to the right that is associated with the plants assembly schedule sequence. Since the California plant unlike Norwood produced more types of vehicles than just the Camaro we believe that this was needed to help keep assembly organized.

*Note: This code often will not match the first five digits of the VIN code. This is not an error or an indication that something is wrong, the code on the trim tag refers to body style and interior, deluxe or standard, and is a separate code from the VIN tag identification. The VIN tag identification identifies number of engine cylinders and coupe or convertible body style. The trim tag code refers to coupe or convertible and interior style, deluxe or standard.

Fisher Body Number
 Individual Body Sequence number assigned by the Fisher Body plant prior to production of the vehicle. Each plant started with the number 1. In Norwood produced vehicle this number is sequential for all Camaros produced for that year. In LOS produced vehicles the number is sequential to the body style. Example for LOS is that the first standard interior coupe and deluxe interior coupe produced will both be assigned body number 1. Each vehicle of that body style to follow will increase incrementally by one.
